Beginning January 1st 2025, any non-gasoline vehicle with a manufacturer’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 14,000 pounds and is a California (CA) vehicle registered to operate in CA on public roads and highways, including IRP is required to submit a passing Clean Truck Check emissions compliance test

We perform the following emissions tests.
Clean Truck Check
OBD-equipped vehicles
Vehicles from 2013 and newer undergo the HD I/M test, which is sent electronically to CARB. OBD-equipped vehicles are tested twice a year, and four times a year after three years.
Opacity Testing
Non-OBD-equipped vehicles
Vehicles from 2012 and older undergo a smoke opacity test and a visual inspection of the emissions control equipment. Alternative fuel vehicles from 2017 and older only undergo the visual inspection. Non-OBD-equipped vehicles are tested twice a year.
RVs
Testing is required for all motorhomes with California registrations by the DMV registration expiration, and out-of-state vehicles have deadlines based on the last four digits of their vehicle’s VIN number. California registered motor homes are only required to submit to emissions compliance testing once annually.
